HG May Equine/Horsemanship Program
Our week-long outdoor therapeutic recreation programs support those experiencing symptoms of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, Military Sexual Trauma, and/or Polytrauma. The program is designed to help you discover a renewed sense of belonging, improve quality of life, and connect you with a community.
**Participants must be selected for a program, and availability is subject to change. Please contact Even PoC with any questions!**
- Who: 8-10 male or female veterans and their supporters (optional)
- Note: As part of our individuals programming, you may bring a supporter, which can be a close family member or friend who is a significant part of your daily life (civilian over 18 or veteran) to attend the program, free of cost.
- What: A week of recreational therapy through horseback riding, handling, roping, cattle sorting and more. All skills learned throughout the week will culminate in a final “Ranch Rodeo” competition among all participants —Interest in equine activities is preferred
- When: May 23-29, 2022
- Where: River Sage Stables in Bellevue, Idaho
- Accommodations:
- RVs Accessibility: Must be able to mount horse with assistance, maintain balance on moving horse, navigate RV (ascend stairs, navigate tight spaces)
- Cost: HG covers all related costs, including travel costs for both veteran and their supporter

HG Fishing Program for Male & Female Veterans at Yakutat Lodge

- Where: Yakutat Lodge, AK
- Accommodations: Private Rooms
- Accessibility: must be able to maintain balance on rocky, uneven surface and stand for long periods of time to fish

HG June Couples Water Sports Program for Male & Female Veterans

- What: A week of recreational therapy through paddle sports, hiking, other various activities – no experience necessary
- When: June 15-21, 2022
- Where: Beaver Hollow Conference Center, Java, NY
- Accommodations: Each coulpe will have their own hotel style room with private bathroom
- Accessibility: Some uneven terrain and steps, mostly paved or gravel paths throughout the property
- Cost: HG covers all related costs, including travel costs for both veterans and their significant other

HG Family Camp at Beaver Hollow

- What: A week of family-friendly recreational therapy through horsemanship fishing, paddle sports, hiking, art as therapy, archery, pickle ball, and other various activities – no experience necessary
- When: July 26 – August 1, 2022
- Where: Beaver Hollow Conference Center, Java, NY
- Accommodations: Each family will have their own hotel style room with private bathroom

August White Water Kayaking Program for Male & Female Veterans
- Who: 9 male or female veterans and their supporters

- What: A week of recreational therapy through white water kayaking and rafting — no experience necessary
- When: August 9 – 15, 2022
- Where: Salmon River, Idaho
- Accommodations: Primitive beach camping, tents provided
- Accessibility: Must be able to enter and exit unsteady raft and traverse rocky, sandy beaches with assistance
- Cost: HG covers all related costs, including travel costs for both veterans and supporters

August 10-16, 2022 Mixed Singles Week-long Rock Climbing Program in Rumney, NH
- Who: 8-10 Veterans/Service Members and their supporters. This program is open to both female and male veterans.
- Note: As part of our individuals programming, you may bring a supporter, which can be a close family member or friend who is a significant part of your daily life (civilian over 18 or veteran)
- What: Intro to rock climbing with Paradox Sports. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. All skill levels welcome.
- Where: Rumney, NH
- Accommodations: Barn Door Hostel Rumney, NH
- Accessibility: The approach can range from 15-30 minutes of navigating various terrain (uneven trails with rocks, boulders, stone steps, sand and gravel, uphill/downhill) before arriving at the climbing site.

- What: A week of recreational therapy through fly fishing and being outdoors in Idaho- no experience necessary

- What: A week of recreational therapy through breaking wild mustangs and Horsemanship (you will not be riding horses)— no experience necessary
- When: November 6-12, 2022
- Where: Caliente, CA (Wild Horse Rescue)
- Accommodations: Cottages/cabins on the ranch
