Steve Adam Memorial Blood Drive with Higher Ground

For the seventh year Higher Ground would like to honor one of our favorite volunteers with the Steve Adam Memorial Blood Drive.  Steve died eight years ago from leukemia, but he stays with us in our hearts and the hearts of our participants.      

Our blood drive will be held on May 5, 2026, at the Boiler Room, 1 Sun Valley Road, near the Sun Valley Lodge.

After the “Drives Near Steve” page has loaded, select the “See Times” icon to register.  If you have problems signing up, please contact me and I will try to help. 

Power Red – On the Red Cross sign up page you will see appointment times specifically assigned to Power Red.  If you have O positive, O negative, A negative, or B negative blood, please consider being a Power Red donor.  The Power Red process separates your red blood cells from the other blood components and then safely and comfortably returns your plasma and platelets to you.  Power Red donations are typically given to trauma patients, newborns and emergency transfusions during birth, people with sickle cell anemia, and anyone suffering from blood loss.  A Power Red donation helps more people but will probably require over an hour of your time for the process.

Standby List – If all appointments are filled when you try to sign up for an appointment and are willing to be on a standby list, please contact me at wtcaton@gmail.com and I will add you to our standby list.  Please include your phone number.  Every year we have cancellations or no-shows I will contact you, hopefully in time for you to donate blood before the end of the day.
