Alpine Training: Personal Skiing & “Teaching Toolbox” @ River Run Lodge (Bald Mountain)

This training is for all volunteers that want to improve their own skiing and add to their “teaching toolbox” to become better instructors. Groups will be lead by our most experienced and certified lead volunteer instructor. This is a no-brainer for any skiers looking to get better.
Please meet at the base of River Run on snow, geared up and ready to rip.

Snowboard Instructor Training is for returning and new volunteers who are intermediate to advanced level snowboarders. This training sessions is for people who are lead instructors. This two day training will be lead by Tim Ball and cover progressions, technique, and equipment.

Please sign up for this orientation if you are New/Incoming volunteer or you are new to winter programming. The orientation will cover the program calendar, policy updates, COVID policy, and what to expect when you arrive at the mountain.

Volunteer Training: ISDB @ River Run Lodge (Bald Mountain)
Dec 10 @ 8:30 am – 12:00 pm
This training will be lead by the wonderful Jodie from Idaho School for the Deaf and Blind (ISDB). It will focus on instructing deaf and low language participants.
Please only attend if you know you will help with ISDB’s Adventure Club or Ski School Days since spots are limited.
We will meet in River Run Lodge @8:30AM in the room across from the gondola.

New Volunteer Instructor Training is geared toward new volunteers who are skiers. This one day training is an introduction to all things adaptive skiing. This includes personal ski technique, working with adaptive equipment, guiding, and basic ski progressions.

Volunteer Training: 3-Track, 4-Track, Slider @ Dollar Mountain (HG Yurt)

What is 3-Tracking? 4-Tracking?
The number of tracks left in the snow when somebody is skiing with stand-up outriggers. This can include, but isn’t limited to, amputees and people with limited strength and mobility in their legs.
This discipline-specific training is for Lead and Assistant Instructors that want to get their hands on our stand-up equipment and learn how to teach people to ski with it.
