New York

Mission

We use recreation, therapy, and continuing support to give people of all abilities a better life.
Together we bridge the gap between disability and belonging.

Western New York is home to one of the largest veterans populations in the country. It is also a place of great natural beauty and a strong, family-oriented community – the elements that have made Higher Ground so successful for over 20 years.

Higher Ground New York Programs support service members, veterans, and their families. We use therapeutic recreation and adaptive sports to help facilitate a change in perspective and give the participants the physical skills, confidence, and coping strategies necessary for a successful reintegration process.
