CRU: Golf (Driving Range)

A half-day of Golf Practice At The Driving Range experience for Veterans & First Responders designed to offer participants a meaningful opportunity for physical activity and social connection in an outdoor setting.

Come join us for a fun day of hitting balls at the Driving Range located at Villages Golf & Country Club. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a beginner, this event is perfect for anyone looking to improve their golf game. Grab your clubs and swing by for some practice and friendly competition. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to work on your swing and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. See you there! Lunch will be provided to the group at a nearby location. Activity gear will be provided, simply dress appropriately for the weather.

Come join us for a fun day of archery at Stevens Creek County Park! This event is specially designed for veterans looking to learn a new skill or brush up on their archery abilities. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced archer, all veterans are welcome to participate. Our knowledgeable instructors will be on hand to provide guidance and ensure everyone has a great time. A one day yoga & rock climbing lesson event. Designed to offer CRU participants an introduction to or continued practice of yoga, followed by indoor rock climbing lesson where participants have the opportunity to strengthen muscles, challenge activity skills, improve social interactions and provide stress relief with recreational therapy in an outdoor setting.

We’ll have a mid-day session of zen yoga, a light snack, about 2hrs of golf playing 9-holes, then enjoy a great meal in the clubhouse.

CRU: Silver Strand Half Marathon (Running Race)

HG Silver Strand Half Marathon,10 Miler, 12K (7.45 mile) & Veterans Day 5K

Higher Ground is sponsoring 8 Veterans and First Responders in the San Diego area to come together to train and run the 1/2 Marathon Silver Strand Race. 10 miler, 12 K, and 5 K races are also available options. 5 training runs will be led before the event on Sundays starting 10/5/25 at the Mission Bay Beach @0800. Breakfast will be provided afterwards. The team will meet before and after the race on race day.

This event is meant to build a strong team dynamic leading up to an event that will challenge participants physically, in addition to fostering new relationships within the veteran community and raising awareness about HG programs and charitable work.

CRU: Sound Bath Yoga

Sound Bath Yoga event exclusively for military veterans and first responders (active, veteran, or retired).

A unique fusion of gentle, heat-enhanced vinyasa and deeply restorative sound healing. Movement through a mindful yoga sequence designed to open the body and calm the mind, followed by a soothing soundbath featuring crystal bowls and healing frequencies. This experience will leave participants grounded, relaxed, and recharged.

Refreshments will be served afterwards.
